Before starting The Artiste Manquée in early 2008, I had dabbled in Web comics once before, two years earlier. Although my first comic project was very short-lived and not in any way related to this one, the two have one thing in common, which wasn't even intentional: Both of their very first strips involve a joke about suicide. I guess I must think that dark humour is a good hook! [view the first strip of my previous comic for comparison]
