This is another one of my favourite strips in the comic. There's barely any dialogue, it's all about Janet's expressions and reactions. She goes from apprehensive, to thinking hard, to heavily concentrated, to panicked, to hopeless, and finally satisfied as she tries her luck with the pottery wheel. I had recently tried to use one myself, so this is another slightly autobiographical moment. And for anyone who's in the dark about Tabby's threat, a fettling knife is a tool used in sculpting pottery.
