I've been reluctant to sever all ties to Smack Jeeves, the free comic host where this comic first started and first gained a following. So far I haven't removed my old SJ site out of consideration for the people who still follow updates through that site. According to my profile page, the number of such people could be anywhere up to 71, but I'm sure the actual current readers included in that number is in fact quite small. In recent months I've been using the old SJ site as a "mirror", which displays all the same comics, but is a completely separate website with its own pages, so that there was basically no reason for SJ readers to visit the-artiste.net at all. But today I've decided to put my foot down, because keeping up too many mirrors has its drawbacks... It leeches reader stats from the main site, creates issues with the comment system, and generally adds an entire additional website to have to maintain. So as of now there is no "site" at SJ, I'm simply redirecting traffic straight to this site. People will still be able to follow updates there, but the links will direct here, not to any mirror page. This will probably annoy some die-hard Smack Jeeves citizens who can't fathom reading something that's not on the same server as everything else they read, but that's the way it is.

Hm, it just occurred to me that none of the above rambling paragraph is likely to be interesting to anyone reading it, since all those SJ users aren't subscribed to my RSS feed and never look at the site's news page. Oh well, it's typed now, so I've gotta post it anyway. Deal with it! :)
