SF Spotlight: Nahast
Starting this week, I'll be plugging the comics of other members of the SpiderForest comic collective. Given that SF is an exclusive and very snobbish club (har har), I can assure you that all the comics in it are top quality, and I would recommend checking them all out. This week, however, the spotlight is on Nahast: Lands of Strife by Al-X. "Epic" would be the first word that comes to mind when I think of this comic, or even just look at its website for the first time. It's a tale the author has been spinning for nearly seven years now (!) and in that span of time he's created a complex, fantastical world whose entire history is thought out in mind-boggling detail. People who can put so much into just the setting of a work of fiction impress me to no end. The art fits the story and is very nice (I love the rain effect he's got going in the current page). It makes me wonder what my own comic would look like if I kept drawing for five more years...
