SF Spotlight: Fuzznuts
Indeed, I skipped last week's spotlight because I was busy, so now I owe the author of Chirault a favor (well, maybe half a favor, now that I've mentioned and posted a link to it here, muwahaha!) But never mind, because this week's comic is Fuzznuts by Chris Wall and Zack Granstaff. The authors' description of their comic is remarkably simple: it's about two squirrels trying to retrieve a bird feeder. At first blush this may cause you to think there isn't much to this story, as I did, but you would be wrong, as I was. In reality the storyline of Fuzznuts has a great deal of variety and creative twists that you'd never expect given that simple description, like the current story arc in which the two heroes are beamed into space by a cereal box prize. As far as Spiderforest comics go, this one's definitely on the "cute and/or funny" end of the spectrum (opposite from all the very serious graphic-novel style fantasy stuff), so definitely give it a read especially if that's your thing. It's not all cute and fuzzy though... there is quite a lot of swearing, so be forewarned kiddies.
